  1. Physical Therapist is pretty easy and doesn't require much schooling. The schedule is also quite flexible, so you can have more time w/ your family.

  2. Last I heard, there is no government health plan in the works. Lieberman managed to kill it.

Meanwhile, there are still 2 different plans b/n House and Senate and we won't know what the outcome is until they are reconciled.

  3. Yes, ICU’s are busy, crazily so at times, but after 13 years, I still love it! It gets frustrating, burn out can easily happen, but that patient or family that gives the look of gratefulness once in a while – really makes it all worthwhile! Or the patient that gets totally better and truly is better when they leave the unit (especially the ones you thought wouldn’t) – Is the icing on the cake!!

  4. @Biffbradford lol! thank god I am just a pee on . I will never go into management, I just want to do my 12 hours and go home. A lot of us RT’s and RN’s sell back our PTO’s to get more money. WE have self scheduling! So if we schedule our shifts right we can schedule up to 8 days off in a row w/o using our PTO’s. Hell I am off the next 6 days! I just got off working 4 days, I dont go back till next tues.

  5. First off, the age which you could be dropped will vary by situation and company, and state. Some companies will drop you at 18 if you're not in school while others will let you go until 30 whether you are in school or not.

Not all full time jobs have insurance benefits. Some part time jobs do have insurance benefits.

Part of the healthcare bill stipulates that all insurance companies in all states must allow adult children to stay on their parent's policy until age 26. This will go into effect when your policy renews after 9/23/10 although some insurance companies have already started as of June 1.

How you go about getting your own policy – Visit a local agent that works with all of the major companies in your area. The agent can find the best policy for your situation and budget. They can explain what you get and, more importantly, what you don't get with each policy. There is no extra charge using an agent. You should do this anyway because in most cases an 18 year old can get their own policy much cheaper than being on their parents.

  6. See “nursing nightmares” on youtube and see WHY we need not only more nurses, but BETTER TRAINED NURSES for home health care. California is releasing thousands of developementally disabled and few nurses can handle severely autistic population! California families need GOOD cnas and lvns to help keep their children OUT of institutions.

  9. @phoenixbyrd2 the Medical Icu at my hospital has the highest turnover. They even hire new grads with no ICU experiance. It can be scary for us RT’s and the experianced RN’s. + I work at a teaching hospital, so there r a lot of interns and residents running around messing things up too. Thank god for Attendings is all i can say bout that!

  14. Should show the combative patients and the unruly, demanding families. Or, how about the screaming detoxer? Should show how nurses run their behinds off 8-12 hrs with no breaks or lunches. Show a code. This video is all about recruiting future nurses. It is not based in reality. I know after my shift I look worse than my patients do.
